The successful applicant may remain at their current home location in B.C. and enter into a telework (remote) agreement OR work from a ministry location where office space is available.

The opportunity:
This position is part of the newly formed Developer Experience team, which supports technologists working in the BC Government digital ecosystem by curating tools, convening communities, and developing content to guide, simplify, and accelerate adoption of modern ways of working and technology in order to improve digital services for the people of British Columbia.

The role is responsible for coordinating the development and delivery of scalable web applications in a continuous deployment environment. This position also supports technology development teams by connecting them with resources, information, tools, and each other to help teams build better digital services.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • A degree in computer science, Computer or Software engineering or related technical field, and minimum three years of experience as a Full Stack Developer or
  • A comparable related diploma in computer science, Computer or Software engineering or related technical field, and minimum four years of experience as a Full Stack Developer or
  • A comparable certification(s) in computer science, Computer or Software engineering or related technical field and minimum five years of experience as a Full Stack Developer or
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Related Full Stack Developer experience must include all of the following include:

  • Experience using a variety of modern development tools and programming languages.
  • Experience with backend technologies such as relational and non-relational databases.
  • Experience working with continuous integration and/or continuous delivery pipelines and other DevOps concepts.
  • Experience developing applications for public cloud and/or container deployment environments

Preference may be given to candidates with either of the following:

  • Experience with API development and integration.
  • Experience building continuous integration and/or continuous delivery pipelines
