Purpose of the role:

Reporting to Digital Business and working closely with the Product Department, you will serve a primary role in the continuous improvement of our processes and solutions built on the Aras Enterprise SaaS Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platform. This includes developing, implementing and enhancing PLM modules, integrating CAD and Product Data Management, and all aspects of core PLM.

This is a multifaceted role that will involve you in understanding stakeholder needs, analyzing requirements, developing custom extensions, building demos and mockups to facilitate stakeholder understanding and decision making, implementing API-based integrations between Aras and other enterprise systems, extending existing data structures, and driving rigorous QA, CI/CD, and DevOps practices. You will be working with amazing business teams, including our Product Department, Research & Development Center of Excellence, Manufacturing Department, and Global Supply Chain.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • You have a university degree in a related field plus at least 3-4 years relevant experience in software development that includes a combination of full stack programming and low-code development. 
  • You have at least three years experience in PLM development, architecture, and/or administration with at least one major enterprise PLM solution.
  • You have solid understanding of PLM concepts including CAPA, FMEA, NCR, etcetera; and management of Change, Requirements, Quality, Manufacturing Process Planning, Suppliers, Projects etc.
  • You have experience with distributed web application development using C# .NET, JavaScript, CSS, and AJAX; ideally using Visual Studio / Visual Studio Code.
  • You have skills with relational database design and development including stored procs, triggers, and UDFs; preferably using Transact-SQL.

Bonus Skills and Qualifications:

  • You have skills with Data Lake design, development, and management.
  • You have experience with the Microsoft Power Platform.

What success looks like in this role:

  • You will use Agile engineering and product practices and various software and web development technologies to develop creative and efficient solutions that enhance PLM system capabilities.
  • You will collaborate with other team members to craft clear user stories, design tests for prototypes and products, and continuously deliver product enhancements.
  • You will perform PLM planning and design activities, including analyzing requirements, designing process workflows, conducting gap analysis, identifying improvements to existing processes and information structures, prototyping proposed solutions, and presenting recommended paths forward.
  • You will perform Aras extension development to correct errors, upgrade interfaces, and improve performance, including coding, debugging, unit testing, integration testing, building, deploying, promoting, leveraging source control, managing configurations, and maintaining documentation.
  • You will Perform RESTful API design, development, coding, and quality assurance to effectively integrate Aras with other corporate systems such as MRP, CAD, ERP, MES, and Power BI.
