Who we are (Musora Media)
At Musora Media, we make playing the songs you love easier by combining great teachers, organized lessons, and practical technology with student-centred communities.
Jared Falk founded his first online lesson community in 2003 and has been steadily growing online education communities since then. Over time Musora Media has become a multi-faceted business that includes online media properties, digital and physical products, and an online education platform with over 180,000 students.
While we love all instruments, we currently have communities for drums (Drumeo), piano (Pianote), guitar (Guitareo) and voice (Singeo) within our online membership.
Underpinning all of our efforts are two simple goals:
- Create more musicians
- Keep them playing longer

Position Overview:
The Partnerships & Public Relations Director is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing all affiliate, influencer, manufacturer and earned media partnerships and campaigns for Drumeo, Pianote, Guitareo, and Singeo.
Key Qualifications:
- Proficiency in the English language (written and verbal)
- Knowledge of affiliate marketing and influencer marketing.
- Valid Passport since travel is required 2-4 times per year.
- Ability to exhibit the Company’s Core Competencies, which include our three core values: Empathy, Passion, and Grit.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to pitch to the media.
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to cultivate relationships.
- Creativity in securing coverage and buzz with traditional media.
- Able to strategize and collaborate with all marketing teams to reach brand-specific goals.
- Deadline-oriented, with great follow-up skills.
- Excellent time management and project management skills.
- Can type efficiently for content creation and team communication. (40+ wpm).
- Work well independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Affiliates: Set up, manage, and optimize all affiliate partners & revenue. Manage all affiliate relationships, gather all banners & promotions, create a monthly newsletter with what’s worked the best and what’s coming next, and manage their monthly payouts.
- Attract new affiliates.
- Provide campaign opportunities & assets.
- Report on our best affiliates and concepts.
- Make sure they’re all happy & paid.
- Intervene with affiliates when there’s a problem.
- Brand Partnerships:Assist marketing managers & CMO to execute & report on all brand partnerships. Be involved in all brand partnership discussions, provide ideas and feedback, and assist everybody involved to make sure the campaigns are activated and running smoothly.
- Assist on campaign design.
- Report on campaign results.
- Provide ideas and opportunities for improvement.
- Influencers: Support marketing managers and CMO on all partnerships & campaigns. Activate our partnership network, make sure it’s running smoothly, report on what’s working and what’s not, and make sure everybody’s getting paid (and paid fairly).
- Review ideas from marketing managers & provide feedback on viability & potential.
- Building the initial partnership agreements and campaign designs.
- Create workflows for influencers to pitch new sponsorship opportunities.
- Report on which partners are creating the best-performing campaigns (views, vibes, and engagement).
- Make sure all influencers are treated well: birthday gifts, anniversary gifts, Christmas gifts, surprises, monthly or quarterly check-ins, and just overall making sure they’re feeling good and supported.
- Artists: Collaborate with marketing managers and artist relations on potential opportunities. Provide support on initial reach-out and discovery when needed.
- Make one big idea come to life each quarter. This can be loosely defined in three ways:
- “Would Rolling Stone Magazine talk about this?” Coordinate with Musora teams & artists to ideate & implement memorable media and events. Dorothea Taylor playing on stage for The Chainsmokers.
- “How can we get somebody unexpected to collaborate with our brands or promote our brands in an interesting way?”
- “What brand partnerships can we launch that would have an evergreen impact on both brands?”
- Adding trials to our platforms to every instrument-based purchase through Amazon, Sweetwater, or Guitar Center.
- Including trials to our products inside packaging, etc.
- Incentivizing retail or private teaching groups to promote our products. Should we have gift cards for our products available for sale through Wal-Mart? ‘
- Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information, e.g. Affiliate/Influencer social media channel metrics, revenue, etc.
- Ensure compliance with legal obligations and company policies and processes.
- Lead and Supervise employees, including hiring, managing performance, etc.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Influencer & Affiliate Marketing Metrics
- Primary: ROAS – Return on Ad Spend (revenue, new trials, new leads, new members)
- Reach & Awareness (views, impressions, referral sources)
- Engagement (likes, reactions, shares, comments)
- Happiness rating (you determine this… do our partners LOVE us?)
- Earned commission revenue (where we place the affiliate links on our websites/channels)
- Public Relations Metrics
- Primary: Media stories published
- Article quality scores
- Brand mentions
- Total impressions (estimated reach based on stories/articles)
Work Conditions:
- Environment: an open-concept office environment, as well as a studio environment.
- Travel required ~2-4 times per year – International, Domestic, and local.
- Work outside of business hours required? Occasionally.
